Star Wars Galaxies will be closed December 15, 2011

   Usually an MMO game players is closed due to reduced or lack of interest from the market. But unlike Star Wars Galaxies. Although the players have filed a petition to the game that was released by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) is not closed, but SOE decides to keep a close game that has been in operation for eight years on December 15, 2011.

Although Star Wars Galaxies still has a lot of players and said to be the game that most resembles the movie, Star Wars Galaxies can not be forwarded because SOE licensing rights for the use of the name "Star Wars" from Lucasfilm for the game will soon run out and of course, to give an opportunity to latest Star Wars MMO, Star Wars: the Old Republic (SWTOR) which will soon release. John Smedley, President of SOE said that at the SWTOR release later on, certainly a lot of Star Wars Galaxies players who will move. Smedley even admitted that SWTOR is a great game and believe that the game will be a success.

   Star Wars Galaxies will terminate on the date of service December 15, 2011 at 12 o'clock at noon CST. As for PvP Civil War will end on December 14, 2011 at 12 o'clock at noon CST and the announcement of the winning players will be announced later
